  1. First Continental Congress-the first continental congress meet in 1774 at Carpenters Hall. This is the carpenters hall they meet here because the state hall was perceived as convenient for all of the public to meet if they desired.

 


 
 
 

2 . Second Continental Congress- Following the the fighting at Lexington and Concord a meeting was called in Philadelphia on May 10, 1775 to assemble delegates to the Second Continental Congress. Those present included Sam Adams, Patrick Henry, John Hancock John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington. Some wanted to declare America independent immediately; others wanted to avoid war at all costs.. While giving peace a final try, Congress established a Continental army and appointed George Washington as commander-in-chief. In an effort to bring peace, John Dickinson and others in Congress drew up a document referred to as the "The Branch Petition" which King George refused to read.


 
 

  1. George Washington- this was our country's very first president . George did not feel that he was qualified for the job as president of America.  His friends felt different though and they nominated him president. Obviouisly he was eventually declared president, and he was one of the best presidents this country has ever seen.

4. Battle of Bunker hellfire most of 1967, North Vietnam held its and the Viet Cong's-military operations in the South at a low level in order to accumulate supplies.  The offensive that was to begin the night of Jan. 30-31, 1968. The goal of the offensive was as much political as military: to shatter the confidence of South Vietnam's citizens in their government and to fuel the fires of antiwar sentiment that burned with increasing intensity in the United States.

  1. Olive Branch Petition-this petition was one of the first petitions to declare freedom in the Americas . this was before the declaration of independence had taken place.
